Day 3 – Amazing Things

“Consecrate (dedicate) yourselves (to a sacred purpose), for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.”  Joshua 3:5

The definition of the word consecrate found in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, is  dedicated to a sacred purpose. “to set apart,” “to be completely dedicated to God,” “to be designated for a special purpose.”

Consecration is a complete surrender to the lordship of Jesus Christ.  Giving God complete control over our lives.

The definition of the word surrender is to give oneself up into the power of another.

Day 1 – we learned that when we pray it allows God to work through us on his plan for our lives.

Day 2 – we learned that God will guide us.  He has a plan for our life and he will orchestrate divine encounters.

Day 3 – Surrender.  How difficult is surrender for you?  Day 1 and Day 2 have built on each other to prepare us for Day 3, surrender.  God said, “I know the plans I have for you, … plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV).  God wants us to surrender our will; our lives, our families, our careers and our future to him.  What do you think it means to surrender to God’s will and not ours?
